  • Cute? Yes! Cheeky? Very! 😬 . . Phugtal monastery has more 30 monk kids. So basically there are more kids than adult monks here. This monastery is in the remote corner of the Himalayas and most villages are not even connected by any motorable road. So every family from the nearby village send one child to this monastery. Here these children study together, eat together, do their chores together and live the monastic life which is not easy. For most kids this life is not a choice but this helps them and their family. They are a curious bunch, very cute but also very cheeky! . . They followed me around curiously asking me a barrage of questions, and when I told them my name is Priyanka. Pat came the response, Priyanka Chopra! All through my time there they followed me like Pied Pipper and went chirping Priyanka Chopra! ...Oh well. But one kid also asked me why I was Fat! 🙄 I took a while to respond to that because while he was a kid, he was also a monk!   • Kids will be kids, Monk or not! 😁 . . . While staying at this monastery, I was lucky enough to witness one of their lunar festival. What's special about this particular monastery, apart from being incredibly beautiful, is that there are more monk kids here than adults. About 30 children live and study here, in the age group of 7 to 17 under the supervision of 10 or so adult monks. . . In the video, the adult monks are performing a solemn ceremony while the kid monks are playing around making noise and get scolded by a senior monk. I found this really funny because this moment totally reminded me of my school days! 😁 . .   • My jaws dropped at the first glimpse of this monastery. Suddenly, I didn't feel the thirst or the soreness in my body or the cold or anything because I had never seen a Monastery as beautiful as this! ❤️ . . . In a land far far ...far far away, is this Buddhist Monastery, untouched by modern age and tucked away in the Himalayas. It will take you some painful but beautiful days by road and on foot to reach this place. And a good amount of will too! But when you do, it is one of the most gorgeous monastery you will ever see! Honeycombed, and built precariously on the side of the mountain far above the river, just the view took my breath away! . . .   • It has been a melting 40 degree plus last few days in Delhi 😰 and right now I would do anything to get back here!!☝🏼 . . . Btw, this is Kawasan falls. And believe me when I tell you that this waterfall is way more gorgeous in real than in this picture. I took this when I was floating around in the cool water after a few hours of strenuous canyoneering and literally had no energy to lift my hand and take a better one, which I of course regret now. 😑 . . Also, the water is a milky turquoise. No edits there! ❤️ . . .
